Soft was all about creating a shoot that was exactly what it says: soft. Ambrosia is simply beautiful with an amazing body and she knows how to model. The style of this shoot lent itself to her and Jen’s make-up was perfect for what I wanted to achieve.

It was a good afternoon/evening as I also got New Wave (Nov 2007) on the same day. Jen was solid on both make-up jobs. Ambrosia brought her “A-Game” and to be honest she seems to model almost effortlessly. It’s a true pleasure to work with her and I think it shows.

Most of the time you have you have to either beg or cajole a model to do a bondage shoot, so imagine how happy I was when Ambrosia ASKED to do a bondage shoot! I had a rig in mind just in case we had time for an extra shoot, so this basically fell into place brilliantly.

I don’t think this would have been half the set if Jennifer Marks hadn’t done the makeup and hair. That beautiful but edgy makeup and that punky Misfits hair makes this a standout shoot.

Ambrosia does such an amazing job with shoots like this. I often have three or four expressions to choose from a given pose and she’s an endless well of poses, so editing is always a treat and a challenge.

This shoot was done six feet from the “Hypnogogic Hallucinogen” shoot.

This was a one-shot concept set-up that turned into a full blown set. I picked up a metallic curtain about a year and a half ago and waited until the model and the moment was right. To pull this off right I really needed Jennifer Marks to do the makeup.

My idea was to do a “silver” shoot, which would be shiny with blown-out highlights. I left the makeup and styling to Jennifer and she came up with her usual brilliant work.

Toxic Goddess Ambrosia has such great skin and an almost limitless ability to pose within a confined space, that she was a great choice for this shoot. The title “Hypnagogic Hallucination” was a term that Ambrosia taught us while getting ready for the set and I thought it fit nicely with these photos.

It’s amazing that I don’t have more shoots like Nightwatch given my own interest in the vampire subculture. The basic idea behind this shoot was that the viewer is in one of those techno clubs like in Blade or Underworld and you just happened to stumble on this scene while going to the bathroom. So, I want you to feel like a voyeur here and the models play with that concept a bit.

There’s a lot that I like about this shoot, including the set-up and the lighting. Mostly what I like about this shoot is how the models embraced their roles so well. Aello makes a fantastic vampire and Ambrosia has absolutely priceless expressions throughout. At times it looks like Ambrosia is in charge, which is why I love the Toxic Goddess models in general and Ambrosia’s ability to be so expressive, in particular.

While I love this shoot, I’d like to do a couple of things different the next time around. I’d like to have better (longer and more stable) fangs next time and there’s never any blood or a puncture wound, which makes this shoot a bit of a prick tease…

Probably one of the most fun shoots I’ve ever done. We were at sci-fi convention late at night and after a couple of shoots we were still not tired so we just found someplace to shoot, put some outfits on the models and started firing away.

We ended up in a stairwell and had a couple of lookouts watch for late night stragglers. We were trying to stay quiet to not attract security, and that, combined with fatigue and Dark Mistresses’ pigtails, gave me an uncontrollable case of the giggles. Then the models started laughing, and you can see the results.

This shoot was so much fun and the guys just let us have a great time. They really caught us in playful moods. Dirk couldn’t stop laughing at my ponytails. Every time I would move my head he would giggle and his head would turn bright red. This made us laugh even more.

- Toxic Goddess Dark Mistress

This was the first night I shot with Toxic Goddess Ambrosia. We did the shoot in an old railroad car that Robert Henry has on his property. When you shoot with a new model, you never know what to expect and Ambrosia was not an experienced model.

However, she is exceptionally smart and I could see her gears turning throughout this set. By the end of the shoot she was owning the moment and I knew we had found a new Goddess. Since then she has continued to grow at a scary pace and is unmatched at giving us the whole story with her face alone.

This is a simple shoot in a confined space (and the first part of a dual shoot with Toxic Goddess Aello as a vampire). Despite the simplicity, Toxic Goddess Ambrosia uses every inch of this space to create an interesting shoot. The second half of this shoot gets a little heated and I promise to post it soon.
