Toxic Goddess Models and Photographer in Hong Kong Group Exhibition

June 26th, 2010 | By Dirk Hooper

HONG KONG, CHINA, June 22, 2010 – Award-winning fantasy photographer Dirk Hooper will have ten photos on display June 27th

during the “Accumulate” international art exhibition in Hong Kong, China.  Hooper’s work will join dozens of other international artists at the grand opening of “That Gallery”.  The organizers of the art show describe “Accumulate” as an opportunity to bring together artists from around the word and to exhibit the combined imagination of these artists by showcasing multiple works in a confined space.

Hooper is excited to have work in Hong Kong.  “I’ve wanted to get a foothold in Asia for a while now and it’s hard to beat an exhibition in Hong Kong.  My dream is to get a show in Tokyo, but I’m thrilled with this first step,” Hooper said.  Known primarily for fetish photography, “Accumulate” presents a softer side of Hooper’s work.  “This is not an erotic art show, so I focused more on fantasy and glamour style portraits.  The style is the same, but this work is not as provocative as most of my shows lately,” Hooper explained.

Danger Darling and Scott Van Eck both do work as makeup artists in the ten photos Hooper has in the “Accumulate” exhibition.  The models represented in Hooper’s photos are:

  • Toxic Goddess Aello
  • Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau
  • Toxic Goddess Eclipse
  • Toxic Goddess Loki
  • Toxic Goddess Oshun
  • Toxic Goddess Rockelle
  • Toxic Goddess Selkie
  • Jade
  • Mistress Kitty
  • Princess Zoe

“Accumulate” will open on Sunday, June 27th at 3:00 p. m. in Hong Kong, China.  “That Gallery” is located at Unit F Superluck Inds Centre, 45-53 Sha Tsui Rd.  Refreshments will be provided.

Toxic Goddesses Dame Lebeau, Loki and Oshun

Toxic Goddess was on the wall (see the post on the show here) and in the house for this year’s Biting the Apple exhibit at the Individual Artists of Oklahoma Gallery.  In attendance was Toxic Goddess Oshun, Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau and NEW Toxic Goddess Loki!  Toxic Goddess photographer Robert Henry is in the photos as well as Toxic Goddess body painter and makeup artist Scott Van Eck.

As you can see, there was more than enough flesh and fantasy to go around and, as usual, the show was a great night for adults in Oklahoma City!

Toxic Goddess Well Represented at “Biting the Apple”

March 25th, 2010 | By Dirk Hooper

This year, the IAO’s Biting the Apple Erotic Art Show will feature the models and photographers of Toxic Goddess in high fashion.  Toxic Goddess photographers Robert Henry and Dirk Hooper will both have pieces in the show and the Toxic Goddesses who will be on the wall (if not in the gallery itself) are Toxic Goddess Eclipse, Toxic Goddess Oshun, Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau (in two pieces), Toxic Goddess Cravyn, Toxic Goddess Selkie and Toxic Goddess Loki!  Toxic Goddess makeup artist Danger Darling and Toxic Goddess airbrush artist Scott Van Eck has work in the show as well.

Information on the show is below.  Come out and hang with Toxic Goddess!

IAO’s 19th Annual Biting the Apple Erotic Art Show

Individual Artists of Oklahoma will present their 19th annual erotic art show and fetish ball entitled “Cirque Fantastique” on Friday, March 26, and Saturday, March 27, from 7pm to midnight, at IAO Gallery, 706 W. Sheridan in the Film Exchange District of Oklahoma City.

Over the course of the two nights, this year’s Biting the Apple, “Cirque Fantastique,” will quite literally be a circus of fantasies that aims to explore how our fantasies are reflected in popular culture through movies, literature, and even modern myth. By providing an approachable and safe atmosphere, IAO hopes guests will come together in celebration of our fantasies to gain insights into eroticism through a wide array of individual artwork.

Friday, March 26 is the event’s Opening Party. Oklahoma artists will exhibit their erotic art in a combined invited artist and juried art show. The evening will also include erotic poetry readings, a fashion show, film and video screenings and performance art; as well as juror’s and people’s choice awards given for art submissions and IAO’s first ever YouTube video competition.

Saturday, March 27 will be a celebration like no other with the event’s popular Fetish Ball. Attendees are invited to dress as personal taste, fashion, and personal fantasy dictate. Look for artist-made costumes and décor to fit the “Cirque Fantastique” theme.

Join our circus of fantasies with street performers, an erotic dance-off and live peep shows. Both nights will include a cash bar and complimentary food donated by a few of Oklahoma City’s most excellent restaurants.

Tickets are $15 for each night or $25 for both nights.

Full Conversion and What’s Next

February 22nd, 2010 | By Dirk Hooper

I can’t tell you how happy I am right this moment.  I’m happy for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is that I just got through with a major project that has been talked about, researched, tested, implemented and converted over about 14 months!  The project I’m talking about is converting the Toxic Goddess site to this new platform.

Each set had to be hand-converted to the new database, and the grand total is 139 sets!  Each set contains anywhere from 25 to over 300 photos!  The sets go back as far as the Summer of 2003 (a set I did titled “Dark Angel” with Toxic Goddess Dark Mistress).

If you like a particular model, go over to the tag cloud to the right and click on her name.  You’ll see all of her sets lined up from the most recent to her first.  If you like the work of a particular photographer or makeup artist you can do the same.  There is a also a search bar at the top of the site that you can use to look up your favorite set.  Most importantly, you can rate the sets and tell us what you think with the comment section (and the Goddesses can reply to what you post too).

I’ll be adding pages over the next few weeks, plus Goddess profiles and some other goodies (my work is never really done here… I have to take photos, work them and post them as well).  Every time you check back there should be more stuff added and refined.

Needless to say, I’m proud of the collection of erotic art photography that Robert and I have shot over the last seven years, and we have a lot of models and makeup artists and friends to thank for getting us to this point.  Thanks to you all!

Thanks also to the fans and members of the Toxic Goddess site.  You’re the ones who make all of this possible and we appreciate your opinions and your support.

Here’s to the next seven years!  (I think I’m going to go rest for a bit.)

Dream hard,

Toxic Goddess Celebrates Three Creators Who Have Work in Dirty Show 11

February 11th, 2010 | By Dirk Hooper

DETROIT, MICHIGAN, February 9, 2010 – Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau, and Toxic Goddess photographers Robert Henry and Dirk Hooper, all three have work that has been accepted into the internationally renowned erotic art exhibition Dirty Show 11, starting this weekend.  This is the first time that Toxic Goddess has had such a strong presence in a major art show.

Toxic Goddess founder and photographer Dirk Hooper said, “When we created Toxic Goddess Robert and I wanted more than a place to feature our own photography, we wanted to start a movement that was a catalyst for art, music and the community.  All three of us getting accepted in the Dirty Show is a milestone in that effort.” Hooper’s piece “Zing” is a halftone print on canvas that features Toxic Goddess model Selkie. Welcome to the NEW SITE!

February 8th, 2010 | By Dirk Hooper

We’ve been talking about making this sort of change for over a year.  I’ll be honest, this particular change presented more challenges to me than I’ve ever had to deal with on a website before.  Trying to give you more control over how you view the photo sets and interact with the Toxic Goddesses and us, the creators, was the goal and I think this new site achieves that in a way that has never been possible before.

We have over five years of sets on the Toxic Goddess site and Toxic Goddess has never been set up as a database.  What that means is that I am physically having to post every set we’ve ever done.  WE HAVE A LOT OF SETS!!! The process of converting the entire Toxic Goddess collection will take some time, but once it’s done, it will be done forever and you won’t believe how nice it’s going to be to have so much control over the content.

For our members, you still have complete access to all the sets and content through the old sections of the site.  If you want to visit the old section please click here.

Over the next few weeks I’m going to wrap up the full conversion, get the Goddesses set up with some new email addresses and implement some new interactive features on the new site.  This is only the beginning!

It’s been fun to look back and see where we started and compare where we are now.  I can say that Robert, Danger and I have grown as artists.  Meanwhile, the models who have held the title have defined what being a “Toxic Goddess” is, and I think everyone would benefit from striving to be as gutsy, intelligent, creative and beautiful as these women are!

I hope you’re excited by the changes and can see the same possibilities I do.  You can now leave a comment for me in the section below, or you can reach me at my email address, just like always:
